Mohamed Salah has reiterated his desire to stay at Liverpool for a long time yet.
The Egyptian forward has been an incredible part of Jurgen Klopp’s team since his arrival from AS Roma back in 2017. His goals, a total of 144 (along with 56 assists) in 223 matches in all competitions, have been of vital importance for everything the Reds have achieved under Jurgen Klopp, and at the moment he is rightly considered among the very best players in the world.
However, Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of next season, when he will have turned 31. Talks between his representatives and the club about a new deal are reportedly underway, but no agreement has been reached as of yet. The situation has expectedly caused speculation about his future, but speaking to Egyptian broadcaster MBC Masr TV in a recent interview, Salah was clear about his wish to continue playing for Liverpool.
“I said it several times, if the decision is up to me, I want to stay in Liverpool,” he said. “But the decision is in the hands of the management and they have to solve this issue. There is no problem, but we have to reach an agreement for the contract, it’s up to them.”
