Salernitana go after Cavani

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Edinson Cavani is a wanted man with Salernitana leading the charge.

The club’s president Danilo Iervolino is interested in trying to bring the Uruguayan forward to Italy, bringing an end to his stint in the Premier League with Manchester United.

It’s been no secret whatsoever that Cavani has been looking for a way out of Old Trafford and after the season they’ve just had, who can blame him? The veteran wants to live out the remainder of his twilight years in style and he isn’t going to get the chance to do that if he continues to play for a club in peril.

Of course, that opens up some questions regarding how seriously Salernitana can be taken here, given that they only just survived by the skin of their teeth in Serie A.

Whatever happens, we expect to see the 35-year-old get a big move by the time the summer ends.
