La Voix du Nord has learned that Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou is almost certain to leave Lille in the coming days.
It is no secret that the player himself hopes to quit les Dogues this summer, while the club are ready to sanction the sale as his high wage is proving quite a burden on the budget.
And the fact he was left out of the squad for the weekend’s clash with Metz is enough to suggest Kalou may have already played his last game for the club.
Even though boss Rene Girard cited poor form as the reason for Kalou’s omission, chances are that Lille do not want to risk the player getting injured ahead of completing a transfer.
After reviving his career in France, scoring 30 goals in 66 league outings, the 29-year-old has been on the radar of top European clubs, with AS Roma reportedly in pole position.
