Greek striker Georgios Samaras has completed a move to Al Hilal, Greek Reporter has revealed.
The 29-year-old was allowed to leave the Baggies having largely struggled for playing time since arriving on a free transfer from Celtic in the summer.
Samaras in turn signed a lucrative three-year deal with the Saudi Arabia side, worth a total of $14 million.
The Greek forward surprisingly ended his lengthy stay with Celtic to join the Hawthorns outfit last summer, but he has since only managed five substitute appearances in the Premiership.
Samaras made another three substitute appearances in domestic cups, and his status did not improve with the arrival of new manager Tony Pulis.
The experienced forward now embarks on a new chapter in his career, and judging by the reception in Saudi Arabia, he is likely to be considered one of league’s star players.
Samaras has been a member of the Greece national team since 2008 and he has 9 goals in 81 matches.
