Georgios Samaras has promised Celtic’s fans the Hoops will keep battling for the Scottish Premier League title until they no longer have any chance whatsoever of overhauling Rangers.

Celtic have fallen 13 points behind their arch rivals and now the Hoops’ hopes of bringing the title across Glasgow from Ibrox to Parkhead appear to have been extinguished.

But Greek international striker Samaras insisted his side’s race was not yet run.

“We’ll keep going until the end of the season and you never know what will happen,” he told Celtic View.

“We’ll just keep our eyes on the points.”

Celtic can cut the gap to 10 points on Saturday if they beat St Johnstone with Rangers sitting out league action this weekend to play St Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.

“It’s never an easy game against St Johnstone,” said Samaras. “We know it will be hard but we must go and win the game and get an unbeaten run going.

“You must be 100 percent professional to go and win the game and not give any chance to the other team to believe they can get something.

“I believe we can do that and take the three points.”
