Antalyaspor midfielder Samir Nasri has moved to reveal contacts with several top clubs in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old eventually joined the Turkish Super Lig side, but he could have also returned to France or moved to Italian Serie A.
Nasri reveals talks with Marseille, Lyon, AC Milan, Besiktas and Galatasaray, but claims he was swayed by the Antalyaspor project and Jeremy Menez’s invitation.
“We had a discussion, but it was fairly brief, with Marseille, Lyon, AC Milan and then Besiktas, Galatasaray and Antalya, and for me, the choice was quite natural,” Nasri confessed to Canal +.
“What the president wants to build here is quite ambitious, the fact that Jeremy (Menez) is there also gave me reassurance, to have talked to him.
”In the end, he practically had the role of an agent, he called me every day.”
Samir Nasri enjoyed a bright start to his career at Antalyspor, scoring 2 goals in first 4 league appearances, clicking nicely with a number of high-profile players.
With the likes of Samuel Eto’o, Johan Djourou, William Vainqueur, Sandro and Jeremy Menez also in the squad, Antalyaspor have reason to hope for a successful campaign.
