Samir Nasri to be rewarded with a new deal

Arsenal are set to reward Samir Nasri for his excellent form with a new long-term deal.

The French international has been in remarkable form at the start of the season, showing Arsene Wenger he can be counted on.

Seeing that his current deal expires in 2012, the Gunners are now preparing a new five-year contract for the midfielder.

Nasri was instrumental in Arsenal’s victory at Eastlands last weekend, with Wenger full of praise for his star player.

“At 23 years old your career starts at the top level and he is becoming more efficient. I think he has become stronger physically and you judge a player with his numbers,” said Wenger.

“On Sunday he had a goal and an assist so that’s what you want from players who have a lot of talent like he has.

“He is quite a complete player because he can run with the ball, he is quick and he is a clinical finisher now. I believe we have a great player in him now.”
