Serie A outfit Sampdoria are set to complete the signing of French defender Thomas Heurtaux from Udinese, L’Equipe can reveal.
The 27-year-old was widely linked with a big club move over the past few weeks, as Italy’s top sides were casting admiring glances his way.
But, it appears that Sampdoria will be the unlikely winners of the race for his services, as they have reportedly find an agreement with Udinese.
The deal should be announced by the end of the day, with the highly rated central defender, who is currently undergoing medical examination, signing a deal until June 2019.
Sampdoria have been short of quality options in the heart of defence ever since Alessio Romagnoli left the club and they appear to have finally found a perfect replacement.
Thomas Heurtaux has built quite a reputation during the three and a half years at Friuli, making a total of 79 league appearances for the Zebrette and scoring 4 goals.
