Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero has confirmed reports linking the Blucerchiati with a summer move for Mario Balotelli.
The Marassi outfit have big ambitions for the upcoming season and they are looking at several high-profile players.
It is no secret that Sampdoria are keen on recruiting Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, and they have now confirmed their interest.
“Balotelli? He is a great player, at Sampdoria, he would have the opportunity to get his career back on track in a place where there would be less pressure,” Ferrero told reporters.
Liverpool would probably jump at the opportunity to cash in on the Italy international after he largely struggled during his debut season at Anfield.
Mario Balotelli joined the Reds in a €20 million deal from AC Milan last summer, but he could only score one goal in 16 Premier League outings.
And with Liverpool already signing Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino, while closing in on Christian Benteke, chances are they will offload the Italian this summer. Fiorentina are also showing interest in the 24-year-old footballer.
