Serie A high-flyers Sampdoria are weighing up a January bid for Udinese starlet Luis Muriel, Tuttosport can reveal.
The Blucerchiati could stay without one of Manolo Gabbiadini or Stefano Okaka, and are in turn in the market for attacking reinforcements.
According to Tuttosport, Sampdoria officials hope to lure Colombian forward Luis Muriel from Udinese.
Despite being regarded as one of league’s hottest prospects, the 23-year-old does not appear to be developing in the right way and he has been largely disappointing this season.
Muriel made a total of 11 league appearances this season, but has yet to score his first goal and he is no longer considered a first team regular at Friuli.
Nevertheless, Udinese officials still believe he can become a valuable asset to the squad and have no intention of selling him on the cheap.
Sampdoria will, therefore, need to make a serious effort if they want to get their man in the January window.
