Serie A outfit Sampdoria have moved to confirm their interest in Juventus starlet Daniele Rugani, according to Tuttosport.
Despite impressing while on loan with Empoli, the 21-year-old hasn’t made a single Serie A appearance since returning to Turin, and he is almost certain to leave either on loan or on permanent deal in January.
A number of Italy’s top sides have been showing their interest in the talented centre-back of late, with Sampdoria the latest of his suitors.
The Blucerchiati plan to rejuvenate their back line and they are keen on signing Rugani on loan until the end of the season.
Given that Juventus officials still believe that the footballer can develop into a leading Serie A defender, they would probably be reluctant to sell him outright, but a six-month loan deal could be the best solution for everyone concerned.
Daniele Rugani had started 40 Serie B matches as he helped Empoli gain promotion to the elite division, before spending every minute on the pitch during club’s 2014/2015 Serie A campaign.
