Serie A high-flyers Sampdoria have moved to suggest it would take €50 million to buy Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The 21-year-old has become one of Serie A’s hottest commodities after an impressive 18 months at Marassi, with top Italian clubs keen on his services.
However, Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero has made it clear that Torreira is priced at €50 million.
“Torreira is worth €50m, but he’s not going anywhere in January,” Ferrero told Sportitalia.
Belgian playmaker Dennis Praet is also in high demand, but Sampdoria are under no pressure to sell.
“As for Praet, they need €30-40m, but we don’t intend to sell. Anybody who wants our players has to pay the right price.”
Sampdoria climbed to sixth in the overall standings after winning three of last four league fixtures and they are available at 5/2 to defeat Lazio on Sunday.
