Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia will soon sign a contract with league rivals Sampdoria, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
After rejecting several offers from English Premier League, the Italy international has accepted a proposal from the Blucerchiati.
Inter Milan bosses in turn decided to allow Ranocchia to move to Marassi, although they have asked for the transfer to be delayed until after the Coppa Italia clash against Juventus, scheduled for Wednesday.
It remains to be seen whether the central defender will be joining Sampdoria on loan or permanent transfer, but everything suggests he will be moving on loan with an option to buy.
A move to Marassi could boost Ranocchia’s chances of playing himself back into the first team plans of Italy boss Antonio Conte ahead of the Euro 2016 finals, where the Azzurri are 21/10 to defeat Belgium in their opening fixture.
The 27-year-old spent last five years at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, making 129 league appearances for the Nerazzurri.
