Chelsea are on the verge of signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Premier League club Chelsea will pay La Liga side Atletico an initial transfer fee of £34.5 million to get the deal done for Omorodion.
Romano wrote on X: Last piece of the domino will be Samu Omorodion to Chelsea. Final fee paid by #CFC will be £34.5m.
“Small details of player’s terms negotiated right now but parties sure that will get done.
“Gallagher to Atléti and Julián Álvarez to Atléti, also already done as revealed.”
Omorodion has been on the books of Atletico since 2023 when he joined Granada. The 20-year-old Spain Under-23 international forward spent last season on loan at Alaves. The youngster made 21 starts and 13 substitute appearances in La Liga for Granada last season. He scored eight goals and provided one assist in those games.
