Samuel Eto’o linked to MLS switch

Sports Illustrated has learned that Toronto FC are showing interest in Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o.

The MLS side are expected to make a real splash in the transfer market during the off season and they have recently been linked with moves for Premier League stars Jermain Defoe and Frank Lampard.

According to Sports Illustrated, Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o has also been added to their list of potential reinforcements.

The same source has suggested that the MLS club have already contacted the player’s representatives with a view of luring the Cameroonian to the United States in the summer.

Eto’o has signed a one-year deal with Chelsea having arrived from Anzhi, meaning that he will be free to negotiate a Bosman deal from 1st January.

Following a slow start to his career at Stamford Bridge, the 32-year-old has shown a lot of improvement of late, scoring three goals in last two appearances.
