Samuel Umtiti flirts with Barcelona exit

Catalan daily newspaper Sport understands that Barcelona defender Samuel Umitit is considering a summer exit.

The 24-year-old has made an instant impact after arriving from Lyon, going on to feature in 46 La Liga matches, catching the eye of other top clubs in the process.

According to reports, Man Utd are prepared to offer Umtiti a long-term deal worth €9 million per season and he has asked the Catalans to match said proposal if he is to remain at Camp Nou.

For the time being, Barcelona are not ready to give the Frenchman a big pay rise, meaning the talented footballer could request to leave at the end of the season.

Samuel Umtiti’s current deal runs until June 2021 and contains a €60 million release clause, giving his suitors Man Utd a decent shot at securing his signature.
