Samuel Umtiti to be offered new deal at Camp Nou

French defender Samuel Umtiti will soon be offered a new contract at Barcelona, Radio Monte Carlo can reveal.

The 23-year-old joined the Catalans last summer in a €25 million deal from Lyon, and he enjoyed a very good start to his career at Camp Nou.

Barcelona officials have been quite pleased with his performances and they now plan to offer the centre-back a new and improved deal.

At the same time, the Catalans aim to significantly increase the current €60 million release clause in light of PSG’s move for Neymar.

Samuel Umtiti has established a good partnership with Gerard Pique and the duo’s rock-solid showings are one of the reasons why Barcelona conceded mere three goals in first 8 La Liga fixtures.
