In-demand Chile winger Alexis Sanchez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona, according to Udinese president Franco Soldati.
Sanchez has been linked with moves to several top European clubs after helping Udinese to a Champions League qualification place in Serie A this season.
English Premier League champions Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in the 22-year-old, who bagged 12 goals from 31 league appearances in 2010-11.
But La Liga and Champions League winners Barcelona appear to be leading the race for Sanchez’s signature, based on comments made by Soldati.
“From what we were told by the player’s agent Fernando Felicevich, Alexis Sanchez has an agreement with Barcelona for a contract worth three million euros a season,” Soldati was quoted by Chilean news outlet La Tercera.
“This does not necessarily mean he will go, but it is what the player wants.”
Udinese and Barcelona are not believed to have agreed a transfer fee for Sanchez.
The Italian side are rumoured to be demanding as much as 30 million euros, with Barca forward Bojan Krkic proposed as a makeweight in the deal.
Manchester City and Juventus have also been touted as possible destinations for Sanchez, who joined Udinese from Chilean club Cobreloa for three million euros in July 2006.
“Barcelona would be a splendid destination,” Sanchez told Futbol earlier this month.
“The interest of great clubs in me makes me proud. It means I am doing well.”
“I want to progress, play and win important trophies and to do this you need to play for the most prestigious clubs. Therefore I hope to have this chance.”
