Sancho and Favre to stay at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are doing their business early. The runners-up of the just finished Bundesliga season have done remarkably well and almost managed to snatch the title and end Bayern Munich’s hegemony. But despite failing in the end, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke feels that this team will continue to grow. For that, they will need Jadon Sancho and the coach Lucien Favre.

“Jadon is not on the market and plays next season guaranteed at Borussia Dortmund”, Watzke confirmed, before moving the conversation to Favre.

“We are convinced of our line and of Lucien! With the runner-up, he achieved more than we expected. He has finally given the team a clear style of play again. Lucien is the right person for Dortmund. In the second and third year, it will become clear whether we can collect titles together.”

Dortmund have been active in the transfer market already this summer, and have signed Thorgan Hazard, Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt​.
