Hoffenheim star striker Sandro Wagner is said to have filed a transfer request as he hopes to secure a January move to Bayern Munich.
According to the reports from German paper Bild, the 29-year-old is keen to re-join the champions once the transfer market reopens this winter and is hoping that he would be allowed to leave his current club.
Germany international Wagner started his professional career at Bayern Munich II but failed to make the transition into the first team. He ended up playing four Bundesliga matches for the Bavarian giants before he got transferred to MSV Duisburg in 2008.
Wagner played for Werder Bremen, FC Kaiserslautern, Herrha Berlin and Darmstadt prior to joining Hoffenheim in 2016.
The 29-year-old powerful forward impressed for Hoffenheim last season, scoring 11 goals in 31 Bundesliga outings. He has thus far bagged 4 goals in nine matches for his club, whereas he also put in a string of impressive displays for his country.
Bayern Munich are said to regard him as a perfect replacement for their first-choice striker Robert Lewandowski, who continues to be linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena-based club.
