Santos travel to the Estádio Independência to face Atletico Mineiro in the Brazilian Serie A tonight, and could well pick up all three points given their fine form on the road in recent weeks compared to the woes at home of Atletico. Victory for Santos would see them go level on points with second-placed Flamengo and six points clear of the hosts.
As for Roger Machado Marques, Atletico Mineiro are currently ninth in the Brazilian Serie A table with 17 points from 12 games this season, coming off the back of three wins and two draws from their last five outings. Atletico have struggled at home, however, winning only two of their six games at the Estádio Independência, and could well come unstuck this evening as a result.
Levir Culpi’s Santos side find themselves fourth in the division with 20 points, having won three and drawn two of their last six games. Santos have been strong on the road of late too, boasting two wins and a draw from their previous three away outings, and consequently Bet 365 are giving odds of 11/2 for Santos to win against Atletico.
