Santos beat Cruzeiro for first win in six games

Troubled Santos FC did themselves a great favour by beating Cruzeiro 2-0 in the Brazilian Serie A on Sunday.

Placed nineteenth of twenty, Santos faced a tough task versus second-placed Cruzeiro, especially considering the poor form the Sao Paulo outfit have been in lately.

But Kléber Pereira helped Santos to an extremely valuable 2-0 win with goals in the 41st and 79th minutes.

This victory was Santos’ first in six matches, while Cruzeiro’s second consecutive defeat allow leaders Gremio Porto Alegre to extend their advantage.
