Brazilian giants Santos have moved to confirm reports linking them with a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Nene.
The Brazilian club are already bracing themselves for life without Neymar and are currently looking for ways to compensate for the player’s impending departure.
Santos were recently linked with a January move for Paris Saint-Germain star Nene, and the club have now confirmed they are interested in the 31-year-old.
“There is a possibility of a return but (signing) Nene will not be easy because he has a contract with PSG,” club sporting director Nei Pandolfo told reporters ahead of the 4-0 win over Cruzeiro.
The good news is that the player has just over six months left on his deal at Parc des Princes and is widely expected to leave the club in the winter.
Nene revealed earlier this week that he wanted to return to Brazil in order to be closer to his family, with Santos taking this as a sign to spring into action.
The experienced midfielder has spent one season at Santos before moving to Europe, scoring 8 goals in 22 league appearances for the club.
