Sao Paulo have lost touch with Brazilian Serie A leaders Palmeiras, being held to a 1-1 draw by Corinthians on Sunday.

Former Real Madrid and Internazionale striker Ronaldo put Corinthians in the lead after 20 minutes, but Washington leveled the score nine minutes after the hour.

As a result, the gap between leaders Palmeiras and Sao Paulo grows to five points with 12 match rounds to go.

Third-placed Internacional couldn’t apply pressure on the leaders either. The Porto Alegre outfit drew 0-0 with Flamengo.
