Sao Paulo FC are the only leaders in the Brazilian Serie A following a 3-0 win over Internacional. Gremio were held by Figueirense.
Sao Paulo were never really troubled by Internacional, and took the lead through Borges on 29 minutes.
Dagoberto added a second in the 52nd minute and Hugo netted the home side’s third with nine minutes left to play.
Gremio needed a win to keep sharing the lead with Sao Paulo, but only managed a draw against Figueirense.
Marquinho put the visitors in the lead after just seven minutes, but Reinaldo at least saved a point for Gremio with his equaliser just before the break.
Sao Paulo have 62 points from 33 games and now lead alone, one point ahead of Palmeiras and two ahead of Gremio.
