Sassuolo considering January swoop for Mattia Destro

The 26-year-old Bologna striker Mattia Destro has been rather short of options this season and is preparing for a change of scenery once the January transfer window opens.

Former AS Roma and AC Milan striker Has managed only seven Serie A appearances for the Serie A outfit this season but Bologna manager Roberto Donadoni does not hold him as his first-choice striker this season.

Despite missing injured Rodrigo Palacio, Roberto Donadoni prefers Bruno Petkovic in front of Destro who needs to ‘prove himself to be in better form’.

Destro is said to be losing patience at Bologna and is exploring his options head of the winter transfer market.

Gazzetta di Modena is reporting that Sassuolo are prepared to offer Mattia Destro a lifeline this winter and help him get his career back on track after a frustrating start to the season at Bologna.

Bologna are currently 12th in the league with 14 points after 11 Serie A rounds.
