Serie A high-flyers Sassuolo have moved to confirm that Inter Milan stand a good chance of securing the signature of forward Domenico Berardi.
The talented footballer is widely regarded as one of the hottest commodities in Italy’s top flight and it is only a matter of time before he leaves the Neroverdi for greener pastures.
With Juventus unlikely to activate the buy-back clause, Berardi will not be going to Turin, but he could instead be joining his boyhood club Inter Milan.
It is no secret that the Nerazzurri are keen on his services, but they will have to wait until the summer before making their move as Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali claims the forward will not be going anywhere in January.
“Berardi won’t go in January,” Carnevali told reporters in Milan. “Our only necessity is maintain a healthy budget and we’ve done that will the sales of (Sime) Vrsaljko and (Nicola) Sansone.
“We’ll see in June, we have a very good relationship with Inter. I think they’ve spoken to the player’s entourage, but there was never any official approach made to us.”
Domenico Berardi, 22, has enjoyed several very successful seasons at Mapei Stadium, having managed 56 goals and 33 assists in 140 competitive outings.
