Sassuolo starlet back on Barcelona radar

Juventus-owned Sassuolo starlet Pol Lirola has emerged as a possible target for the Spanish champions Barcelona.

According to reports from El Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans continue to search for possible solutions at left-back and a direct replacement for out-of-favour Aleix Vidal.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is believed to be alerted by the 19-year-old Sassuolo starlet Pol Lirola, who has been under Barcelona radar for quite some time.

Highly-rated youngster has excelled on his loan away from Serie A champions Juventus and has already alarmed a couple of Europe’s top clubs Barcelona and Manchester City, who appear to be ready to engage in a tug of war for his signature.

Having been brought from Espanyol in 2014-15 season for €700,000, Lirola is yet to make a single appearance for Juventus, but his eight Serie A performances so far in the season have been more than enough for the youngster to demonstrate his vast potential.

Lirola signed a contract extension with Juventus last summer with his deal running until 2019.

Bianconeri appear to have high hopes for the talented youngster and keep him in high regard, believing he could go on to develop into a key first-team player in the future.
