Sassuolo striker on Liverpool radar

Premier League title chasers Liverpool have reportedly shown interest in Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi, according to local Italian reports.

The in-form forward has been closely watched by a number of Europe’s top clubs, but Gazzetta di Modena claim that Liverpool have emerged as frontrunners for the talented 22-year-old.

The Reds’ scouts have watched the Italy international on several occasions this season and the Premier League club seem to be prepared to step up the chase for the player during the January transfer market.

Domenico Berardi has enjoyed a great start to the Serie A season, having scored seven goals in eight appearances across all competitions. The player has been on the layoff in the Serie A however, having only played four games thus far, but is hoping to make bigger impression in the second part of the season.

Liverpool are believed to be searching for reinforcements upfront as Jurgen Klopp is not satisfied with the options he currently has at disposal but it appears they will have to contest Serie A champions Juventus to the signature of the player valued at €25 million.
