The 22-year-old exciting talent has become one of Atletico Madrid’s key players over the course of last five years and has reportedly turned the head of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho who wants to reinforce his midfield this January.
The Portuguese tactician has been hit with a number of injuries to his anchor players and is ready to pounce for his long-term target Niguez once the transfer window reopens this winter.
The Spanish midfielder himself is said to be open to prospect of working under Jose Mourinho and is hoping a deal could be reached this winter.
Niguez is under a £134 million buy-out clause in Madrid but Manchester United are confident they will be able to work out a significant decrease in asking price.
