Saul to stay at Atletico Madrid?

According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid are set to offer Saul Niguez a brand new contract in the midst of interest from Manchester United. The Premier League side have been more than willing to trigger his release clause of around £135 million, and will go after him if Paul Pogba winds up leaving the club – which is expected to happen.

Saul has been viewed as one of the best midfielders in world football for quite some time now, but him leaving Atletico has never seemed like a realistic possibility. Given the way in which United are going after players during the current transfer window, however, it really does feel as if this could happen.

The money isn’t going to be any kind of obstacle, but of course, now it seems as if Atletico are starting to push back. It’ll all come down to one thing: whether or not Saul wants to stick with what he knows or test himself in new waters.
