Former Swansea City striker Dean Saunders has told Sky Sports that his former club must made additions to their squad this month to avoid being involved in a relegation scramble.
Michael Laudrup’s men lost 3-2 at home to Manchester City on New Year’s Day to stretch their winless run to seven games in all competitions, while they have won just twice in their last sixteen.
Saunders, who has been out of work since being dismissed by Wolverhampton Wanderers in May believes that the South Wales side need a new striker, with star man Michu ruled out until next month with an ankle injury.
Swansea who have also had the Europa League to contend with this season, are currently in thirteenth position, but are just four points above the relegation zone.
They are priced at a generous 16/1 to return to the Championship after three seasons back in the top flight.
