Bundesliga side SC Freiburg are considering a move for Real Madrid talent Philipp Lienhart, according to reports from the Spanish media outlet Marca.
The 20-year-old promising defender has played 26 games for Real Madrid B this season but is yet to make a senior La Liga appearance under Zinedine Zidane, although he was expected to be given a chance with Los Blancos enduring their fair share of problems in defensive department of late.
The captain of the Austrian U-21 setup, Philipp Lienhart, had been picked by Rafa Benitez in 2015, when he made his full-time debut in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey win over Cadiz but he struggled to get any playing time since and is thought to be open for a change of scenery.
Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg are apparently prepared to present Lienhart with an escape plan and will step up the chase for the talented Austrian at the end of the current season.
Lienhart is under contract with Real Madrid until 2019.
