Croatia manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly Schalke 04’s top pick to lead the German Bundesliga side until the end of this season.
Schalke sacked coac Fred Rutten earlier this week after a series of disappointing results, and sportspaper Kicker mentions Bilic as main candidate to take on the Gelsenkirchen job.
Bilic, who speaks fluent German, would not have to leave the Croatian team as there won’t be any international games until June, excluding Wednesday’s qualifier with Andorra.
Schalke are currently in eighth position with just nine matches left to play.
