Hannover captain Lars Stindl could be the subject of a genuine bidding war between Schalke and Borussia M’Gladbach, Bild has suggested.
The highly rated midfielder has a deal until June 2016 and he has already rejected several contract offers from the 96ers.
Stindl also has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for mere €3 million next summer, and he is almost certain to leave Hannover for greener pastures at the end of the season.
The 96ers have no plans to sell their star player in the January window as they want him to help the team secure another European qualification, but they will be forced to cash in next summer.
According to Bild, Schalke and Borussia M’gladbach lead the chase for Stindl’s signature, although few more Bundesliga sides are in the mix.
Hannover resume their league campaign by facing Schalke at Veltins Arena, with the 96ers priced at 3/1 to emerge victorious.
