Bundesliga top 4 rivals Schalke and Wolfsburg are involved in a genuine bidding war for Portugese winger Vieirinha, according to Bild.
The Wolfsburg midfielder has a deal until the end of the season at Volkswagen Arena and so far he has been offered a deal worth €3.8 million per campaign by his current employers.
However, Schalke have expressed their desire to sign the 29-year-old footballer as they see him as a great replacement for Jefferson Farfan and are ready to pay him €4.5 million per season.
And while the Miners appear to be leading the chase at the moment, Wolfsburg officials are prepared to go the extra mile in an attempt to keep hold of their star player and are reportedly looking to increase their latest proposal.
Vieirinha has yet to make a decision on his future, but everything suggests he will be looking to get the best possible deal for himself.
