Schalke announce deal for Suat Serdar

Bundesliga high-flyers Schalke have moved to announce the capture of German midfielder Suat Serdar from Mainz.

The 21-year-old was paid €11 million and he has signed a contract until June 2022 at Veltins Arena.

Serdar is expected to add quality to the middle of the park as both Leon Goretzka and Max Meyer are set to leave, and he is coming off a very promising campaign with Mainz.

The talented midfielder amassed a total of 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring 2 goals, catching the eye of Schalke scouts in the process.

The Germany Under-21 international now gets a chance to represent a famous German side that will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next term.
