Schalke deny Adler interest

Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt has moved to deny reports linking the club with a move for Bayer Leverkusen keeper Rene Adler.

The Germany international is looking to leave the club on free when his contract expires at the end of the season and Schalke have been mentioned as one of the interested clubs.

However, Schalke general manager Horst Heldt says they are perfectly happy with current keeper Ralf Fahrmann.

“We signed Ralf Fahrmann at the start of the season and we are extremely delighted with the progress of Ralf Fahrmann,” Heldt told German newspaper RevierSport.

“He is our starting goalkeeper and he has won us points with his performances this season.

“We are happy to have Ralf Fahrmann under contract.”
