Even though they have yet to sell Manuel Neuer, Schalke have already started the search for his replacement.
Club chiefs Clemens Tonnies and Horst Heldt will meet today to decide whether to accept Bayern’s €25 million offer for Manuel Neuer.
However, Schalke officials seem to have already found a replacement for the Germany international, as Bild reports that the Miners have set their sights on Germany under-21 keeper Kevin Trapp.
The 20-year-old keeper broke into Kaiserslautern’s starting line-up in March and has since enjoyed a great season at Fritz-Walter.
Schalke manager Horst Heldt has already held secret talks with the player’s representative Michael Becker and the two parties are reportedly close to reaching an agreement.
Trapp has a contract with Kaiserslautern until June 2013, but should be available for €4 million.
