Schalke in goalkeeper crisis

Schalke 04 boss, Fred Rutten, has been dealt a huge blow ahead of the team’s match against Borussia Dortmund as both of his first choice goalkeepers have been ruled out through injury.

Manuel Neuer has broken his metatarsal in pre-season while Mathias Schober who has filled in brilliantly for Neuer, conceding just one goal in six matches, has strained his calf during a training session on Monday, the team doctor reports.

According to the Schalke 04 website one of either Ralf Fährmann or Mohamed Amsif will be given the nod for the Borussia Dortmund, but Fred Rutten said that he would like to delay his decision as much as possible.
