Schalke managed to complete the signing of forward Teemu Pukki just before the transfer deadline last night.
The Finnish striker had scored three goals as his Helsinki almost knocked Schalke out of Europa League and he soon managed to cash in on his impressive displays.
The Royal Blues agreed a transfer fee with Helsinki last night, with the player signing a three-year deal at Veltins Arena.
“Teemu Pukki is a very young and very interesting player with great potential,” Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt told the club’s website.
“He showed what he is capable of in both games against us. We hope that he will strengthen our side.”
Having played for HJK against Schalke in Europa League qualifying round, Pukki is ineligible for Schalke’s Europa League campaign.
