Croatia international Nikola Kalinic is set to leave Atletico Madrid this winter as Los Rojiblancos are making room for the imminent arrival of Alvaro Morata from Chelsea.
Kalinic moved to Atletico Madrid last summer but failed to gain footing under Diego Simeone and endured a severely limited time on the pitch.
Despite only playing 442 minutes in La Liga this season, Kalinic is attracting plenty of suitors with Valencia, AS Monaco and even Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move for the 31-year-old.
A return to Italy should not be ruled out even though latest reports coming from Germany are suggesting that the Bundesliga side Schalke appear to be keen on the 31-year-old.
The German side are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this winter after losing Embrolo, Burgstaller and Di Santo to injuries and would be keen to take Kalinic on a half-season loan until the end of the campaign.
