Borussia M’gladbach striker Max Kruse is being linked with a summer move to Schalke, according to Bild.
The Miners have been heavily relying on star striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar this term, but his recent six-match suspension showed the club officials that they might need to recruit another quality attacker.
As a result, Schalke will reportedly attempt to purchase Germany international Max Kruse from Borussia M’gladbach.
The 26-year-old has a contract until June 2016 with die Fohlen, but the good news is that his release clause stands at mere €12 million.
Max Kruse has largely impressed since joining Borussia from Freiburg, having netted 30 times in 87 Bundesliga outings.
The striker has so far earned 10 Germany caps and he was widely expected to make the country’s World Cup squad, but was reportedly dropped for unprofessional behaviour.
It remains to be seen whether Schalke will follow up their interest in the striker in the coming months.
