Schalke lead the race for Juan Miranda

As reported before, Barcelona’s Juan Miranda will be leaving the club on loan this season. Although there have recently been reports suggesting the 19-year-old was close to going to Juventus, Marca now claim another club is now emerging as the frontrunner for the signing of the Spanish left-back: Schalke 04. The Catalans are apparently already in talks with the German side.

Barcelona are only willing to take into consideration a loan deal, as they are aware of the Spaniard’s potential and see him playing for the club in the future. However, they have not included him in their plans for this season, which makes the youngster available to go on loan, where he would potentially get more time on the pitch. Last season Miranda only had four appearances for the club.

In addition to Juventus, Marseille were also interested in the teenager, but the deal did not materialise because of the no-sale clause Barcelona wanted in the contract.
