Bundesliga outfit Schalke have announced on their official website that they have signed Brazilian defender Junior Caicara from Ludogorets Razgrad.
The Miners are believed to have paid €4.5 million for the 24-year-old footballer, who has penned a three-year contract at Veltins Arena.
Caicara has become club’s third signing of the summer transfer window, with Matija Nastasic sealing a permanent switch and Johannes Geis joining from Mainz.
The Brazilian began his professional career at Santo Andre, while also enjoying loan spells with CS Alagoano, America SP and Gil Vicente before moving to Ludogorets Razagrad in 2012.
Caicara went on to make 128 competitive appearances for the Bulgarian champions, scoring 1 goals and producing 24 assists in the process.
The right-sided defender, who can also operate on the left hand side, has now made another important step in his career, but it remains to be seen whether he can successfully compete in German Bundesliga.
