Bundesliga side Schalke will once again have a Sane on their squad list next season.
Two years after selling the young attacking star Leroy Sane to Manchester City for €50 million, the Gelsenkirchen club acquired the signature of Hannover 96 defender Salif Sane.
The 27-year-old Senegal international has yesterday announced he will be leaving Hannover at the end of the season.
“My big goal is to play Champions League again.”, he said.
And even though he refused to speculate on his next club, the German media outlet Bild claims that Sane will join Schalke in a transfer worth €8 million.
Sane has a valid contract with Hannover until 2020 but will be allowed to leave after Schalke activated the release clause.
Schalke currently sit is second place in the standings, huge 20 points behind Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The Gelsenkirchen side is one point in front of Borussia Dortmund in third and four ahead of fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
Even though they have yet to secure the top-four spot, Schalke are 1/41 betting odds to cross the finish line within the Champions League designated area.
