Bundesliga outfit Schalke plan to cash in on Argentine striker Franco Di Santo in the summer transfer window, according to Bild.
The Miners only signed the 26-year-old in the summer as coach Andre Breitenreiter was keen on adding the player to his ranks.
But, with Di Santo having managed one goal in 18 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, a summer exit appears on the cards.
The club chiefs are also disappointed by the forward’s behaviour as he does not seem fully dedicated to the team’s cause, and the Miners are almost certain to offload him at the end of the current campaign.
Franco Di Santo began his career at Audax Italiano and also played for Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic before moving to Germany.
And while he impressed playing for Werder Bremen (17 goals in 49 league outings), has has been largely disappointing since joining Schalke, only showing some promise in club’s Europa League campaign.
