“We’re happy that we have him, not only as a player but as a person he suits Schalke. I hope we will have the chance to keep him longer.”

Those are the words of Schalke sporting director Jochen Schneider who is interested in keeping Everton loanee Jonjoe Kenny on the books beyond just this season. Kenny has made a strong impression ever since making his way over to Germany, and it seems like Schalke aren’t going to give up without a fight.

The local lad has been a professional with the Toffees since back in 2014, but hasn’t quite been able to lock down a secure place in the starting XI since then. At the age of 22 it feels like the next move in his career could be a really big one, and given the success he’s having over there, it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see him remain at Schalke beyond his scheduled tenure.
