Schalke are planning a summer bid for Koln striker Lukas Podolski, Bild has revealed.
The Miners could stay without key player Raul, whose contract expires at the end of the season and they are now looking to replace the veteran striker.
According to Bild, they have set their sights on Koln forward Lukas Podolski, who is set to leave the Billy Goats at the end of the season.
Schalke are willing to offer up to €15 million for the 26-year-old, although they could face stiff competition from Arsenal and Roma.
The German international is eager to join a bigger club and Koln will be forced to cash in on the player in the summer, as he is highly unlikely to sign a new deal at Rhein Energie Stadion.
Podolski’s current contract expires in June 2013 and he has already revealed that he plans to leave the club in the summer.
