Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has hailed Germany’s squad ahead of his country’s final Euro 2012 Group B match on Sunday.
The Leicester City man feels the Group B leaders are strong in all areas, but singled out goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for praise.
“They’ve got good players everywhere, every position, so we’ve got to be on top of our game to beat them,” Schmeichel told Goal.com. “But, as a goalkeeper, I think their best player is Manuel Neuer.”
Germany have taken three points in both of their matches so far, having beaten Netherlands 2-1 on Wednesday following their 1-0 win against Portugal in last Saturday’s opener.
But the Germans have neither won their group or secured advancement to the quarter-finals, and have as much to play for as Denmark.
Heading into the match, Danish winger Michael Krohn-Dehli believes his team will need fortune on their side if they are to book their spot in the knock-out rounds.
“You have to force your own luck,” he told Goal.com. “If you go for it, you will sometimes get lucky: making the right runs in the box and sometimes taking a shot when you have a chance instead of passing the ball.
“We still have a chance to progress in the group, and of course we’ll try to take it.”
